Svec said the study took a conservative figure of $1,000 a month of payments in each case file leading to a figure of $4.05 billion per year. The study estimated that about $1.05 billion in direct payments goes to those suffering from concussions or traumatic brain injury. While post-concussion syndrome or traumatic brain injury may not be the only factor leading to a disability, the study suspects they were significant in leading to the disability.
